Davidsonville Historic State Park

If rediscovering "lost" history is an interest for you like it is for us, you'll enjoy a visit to Davidsonville Historic State Park where you can explore archeological discoveries of a significant but abandoned town on the Black River, once home to the state's very first post office! This visit was part of a larger weekend of visits for us because of the close proximity of multiple state parks. We camped at Lake Charles State Park and ventured out on day trips to Powhatan Historic State Park, Davidsonville Historic State Park, and Jacksonport State Park. We highly recommend making the most of your adventures by planning to visit points of interest that are within an easy distance.
