Jacksonport State Park

Where the White River and the Black River meet, there was an important community that thrived with the trading traffic along the rivers. Jacksonport State Park features a wonderful new visitor center and museum, as well as historic buildings from the 1800's. This visit was part of a larger weekend of visits for us because of the close proximity of multiple state parks. We camped at Lake Charles State Park and ventured out on day trips to Powhatan Historic State Park, Davidsonville Historic State Park, and Jacksonport State Park. We highly recommend making the most of your adventures by planning to visit points of interest that are within an easy distance.
