If you are a fan of fishing, this is the spot for you. A peaceful 645 acre lake is the main attraction. On the weekend of our visit, we saw some hours of not so peaceful time on the lake as it was the site of a large professional bass fishing tournament. But it was really cool to see all the professional boats with sponsors. This visit was part of a larger weekend of visits for us because of the close proximity of multiple state parks. We camped at Lake Charles State Park and ventured out on day trips to Powhatan Historic State Park, Davidsonville Historic State Park, and Jacksonport State Park. We highly recommend making the most of your adventures by planning to visit points of interest that are within an easy distance.
