Lake Frierson State Park

Kayaking and fishing on a quiet undeveloped lake away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We tent camped here and really enjoyed our weekend. Experiences that make memories are not always sugary sweet though! Upon arrival at our campsite, while unloading and preparing to setup, Leah was stung in the head by a wasp! Bit of a rough way to kick things off but she survived and now we laugh about it. Speaking of survival, we didn't do a superb job of tracking the weather forecast. On a bright beautiful Summer day, we kayaked across the lake to tootle around on the opposite shoreline. A huge thunderstorm rolled in very quickly from the west. We had to paddle hard and fast to get back to camp before the bottom fell out on us. Tons of rain, but we dried out and still had a great time.
